Welcome

Reaching the final of Masterchef 2007 was a rollercoaster of emotion, with huge highs and lows, but I loved every minute and learnt a huge amount. I owe a great deal to John and Gregg who had faith in my ability when I did not believe in myself. Since competing on the programme my life has changed considerably. I now write cookery columns for two magazines, give cookery demonstrations and am just working on my 13th cook book - unlucky number for some but not for me!!! I love all forms of country cooking, using seasonal and locally sourced produce. This blog is to enable me to share with you a few of my recipes and baking ideas. Enjoy Hannah xxxx

What a week this has been! Steven and I watched yesterday's programme together and I think we were both amazed by what we had achieved at both Downing Street and the Savoy. It all seemed like a dream watching it back and I was so proud of my chocolate dessert. There were chefs there to guide us but we did every step ourselves and I am so proud of us all. I can safely say it is a night I will never forget and we rocked! Best of all was that John and Gregg were so proud of us all and I, for one, am glad that we didn't let them down.

No time for a recipe today so thought I would just post a picture of my little dragon cake! It went down very well for my nephew Taran!

Nice one Hannah, greentastic.

Well, all over this evening and life can continue as normal for you I hope. My sleepless nights ended last Friday, although I still have nightmares about how I went into meltdown so spectacularly and I felt a pang of envy when you were cooking at number 10. It was difficult to watch for me. None of the other tasks though!

I hope you and the guys feel good about yourselves after the show has ended, be proud about it all, immense pressure that only MC contestants can compare to. I would have done things differently but I still have no regrets. Strength to strength, onwarda and upwards!

Luv David xxx

Wow! Just finished watching the Masterchef final... talk about tense! Didn't expect your own personal blog to pop up when doing a Google search, though.

I hope that, although you didn't win, you'll still try to open up a country restaurant with your mother (or whatever your current aspirations may be). Either way, watching you on Masterchef has been a treat and I wish you luck on your future ventures. Looking forward to trying your recipes (my husband has voted vor the blueberry and lemon cheesecake to be tried first...) From: a fellow foodie.

PS. I accidently added this to a February post first, so please excuse the double posting.

Hannah there's no doubt you've warmed the hearts of the nation and everyone was gunning for you. You were a star to the end, including when it was announced Stephen had one, and I hope you get everything you deserve from this opportunity. Kindest, James.
