Welcome

Reaching the final of Masterchef 2007 was a rollercoaster of emotion, with huge highs and lows, but I loved every minute and learnt a huge amount. I owe a great deal to John and Gregg who had faith in my ability when I did not believe in myself. Since competing on the programme my life has changed considerably. I now write cookery columns for two magazines, give cookery demonstrations and am just working on my 13th cook book - unlucky number for some but not for me!!! I love all forms of country cooking, using seasonal and locally sourced produce. This blog is to enable me to share with you a few of my recipes and baking ideas. Enjoy Hannah xxxx

Happy New Year everyone! I hope that you all had wonderful celebrations with family and friends. Lets hope that 2008 is a good year for us all. Our new years resolution started in earnest yesterday and we spent the whole day sorting out our house, clearing out 5 sacks of rubbish. Exhausting work but long overdue! Once we have finished the house we are moving on to clearing our woodland and building a tree/summer house. Having been so busy last year with Masterchef, all these things went on hold and we are looking forward to getting the garden project back on track. The hens decided to give us a new years treat and we had our first two blue eggs yesterday! I am so pleased!

I agree with magic cochin... love the egg rack! I am not familiar with blue eggs - are they better for eating or baking... or just the same?

Thanks Rita and Celia - I love the egg rack too - it was a christmas present from my aunt and I love it. The blue eggs are just the same as normal eggs - they just look prettier!
Happy New Year both of you!

What gorgeous blue eggs! I have seen them at the store and they are quite pricy, but how pretty they are. Love the egg rack as well! There is something very cathartic about getting rid of all the junk. It's like a breath of fresh air, even if it is hard work! I would so love a tree house! It's always been my dream! By the way I was able to get the pattern for the cross stitch! Thanks so much for the information!
