Welcome

Reaching the final of Masterchef 2007 was a rollercoaster of emotion, with huge highs and lows, but I loved every minute and learnt a huge amount. I owe a great deal to John and Gregg who had faith in my ability when I did not believe in myself. Since competing on the programme my life has changed considerably. I now write cookery columns for two magazines, give cookery demonstrations and am just working on my 13th cook book - unlucky number for some but not for me!!! I love all forms of country cooking, using seasonal and locally sourced produce. This blog is to enable me to share with you a few of my recipes and baking ideas. Enjoy Hannah xxxx

As much as I like baking pretty cakes, having a few nephews necessitates occasional "boys" cakes. Sadly they are not into flowers and edible glitter - but rather football, monsters, space travel etc. Here are a few of their recent cakes!

They look FABULOUS! I bet they didn't want to eat them (for about two minutes!)

Who needs to be a boy to prefer those?! I'd love that pirate ship and treasure island myself. :D

Freddie has made very specific birthday cake requests over the years. A map of the world was one.....

Great looking cakes! Very masculine! I can't imagine any child actually not being happy with one of those! I bet they tasted great as well!

Hannah,

I don't really do cake decoration any more (although I had my birthday cake moments, courtesy of the Australian Women's Weekly book), but these - plus others, earlier and girlier - are inspirational, and make me think I should get decorating. Great stuff!
