Welcome

Reaching the final of Masterchef 2007 was a rollercoaster of emotion, with huge highs and lows, but I loved every minute and learnt a huge amount. I owe a great deal to John and Gregg who had faith in my ability when I did not believe in myself. Since competing on the programme my life has changed considerably. I now write cookery columns for two magazines, give cookery demonstrations and am just working on my 13th cook book - unlucky number for some but not for me!!! I love all forms of country cooking, using seasonal and locally sourced produce. This blog is to enable me to share with you a few of my recipes and baking ideas. Enjoy Hannah xxxx

It is an exciting day for me as today my recipes are out in Delicious. Two of the recipes are on their website - Raspberry Crumble Pie and Raspberry Maple Shortcakes for you to try! If someone had told me a few years ago I would have recipes in Delicious, I just wouldn't have believed it! My Shortcakes even made it onto the bottom of the front cover - I am a happy bunny!

Congrats Hannah. Hope your magazine submissions last a lot longer than my brief career as a food writer for food mags!!!

Cheers

Woo Hoo! Way to go Hannah! I was laying in bed last night reading my delicious magazine and I hadn't noticed. Now I MUST go back and have another look!

How bizarre, I was just looking at this and then looked at the computer and then back to the magazine - congratulations! I want the raspberry and clotted cream ice cream and those elderflower thins sound delicious.

Off I went to the shope yesterday to secure my copy of delicious and I flicked through it and stopped at the glazed raspberry and white chocolate tarts...they look scrumptious and will find their way to the next dinner - or wine party...that's a given. You must have had so much fun trying all these recipes. It is a great feeling to see how much you developed since I cheered for you in the final of Masterchef...;-) Keep going....and make me smile

That raspberry crumble pie looks absolutely delicious. Being 39 weeks pregnant I could probably polish off the lot in one go (with or without spoon). Really enjoying your blog Hannah. I rooted for you on last year's Masterchef - so glad things are going so well in the chef-y world for you. Do you still do the lawyer thing too?

Thank you all for your lovely comments, We did have a lot of fun trying the recipes - my friend Jess was chief taster and the baked alaska was definitely our favourite.
Silver Pebble - I am still lawyering to pay the mortgage but have a second job with cookery writing and demos. Basically all I do is work!!!!! but I do really love the cookery side of things very much indeed.
