Welcome
Reaching the final of Masterchef 2007 was a rollercoaster of emotion, with huge highs and lows, but I loved every minute and learnt a huge amount. I owe a great deal to John and Gregg who had faith in my ability when I did not believe in myself. Since competing on the programme my life has changed considerably. I now write cookery columns for two magazines, give cookery demonstrations and am just working on my 13th cook book - unlucky number for some but not for me!!! I love all forms of country cooking, using seasonal and locally sourced produce. This blog is to enable me to share with you a few of my recipes and baking ideas. Enjoy Hannah xxxx

Hi Hannah, I love your blog! I've been lurking for a while and not commenting but I feel the need to comment now...
...the birds are great tits, not blue tits! Great tits are bigger, they have a black cap and a bold black stripe down the front, whereas blue tits have a blue cap and a black "bandit" stripe through the eye and a much thinner black stripe.
Love the pictures anyway.
Thanks Anna - have changed the title now! Mum sent them to me with the heading blue tits and I did wonder as I was typing it this morning whether they were on not!

I love watching birds and we have some nesting boxes up in our trees in the back garden that are in full use at the moment. We also have sparrows living in the upstairs eaves of our windows which are really nice. I fall asleep at night to the sound of their fluttering wings and little chirrups. It's a really comforting sound. Not sure how good it is for the house, but I don't really care. It's good for my soul...
