Welcome

Reaching the final of Masterchef 2007 was a rollercoaster of emotion, with huge highs and lows, but I loved every minute and learnt a huge amount. I owe a great deal to John and Gregg who had faith in my ability when I did not believe in myself. Since competing on the programme my life has changed considerably. I now write cookery columns for two magazines, give cookery demonstrations and am just working on my 13th cook book - unlucky number for some but not for me!!! I love all forms of country cooking, using seasonal and locally sourced produce. This blog is to enable me to share with you a few of my recipes and baking ideas. Enjoy Hannah xxxx

My lovely brother recently had his birthday. As he loves cooking almost as much as I do and as he is in New York with a limited supply of UK products - we sent him a gift hamper filled with all things English - Walnut whips, PG tips, Treacle and Golden Syrup, Love Hearts, Cadbury's finger biscuits, Tunnock's tea cakes, Baked Beans, Heinz Tomato Soup, Custard Powder, Garibaldi biscuits (yuk but my brother likes them!) and lots of other goodies! He looks a little overwhelmed in the picture but I know he liked it!

Anyone would love to get a basket like that Hannah! I know I would be over the moon to get one sent to me over here filled with Canadian goodies!

Brilliant. He looks so happy. Any chance we can find out what Gareth cooks with all these goodies?

Wow, what a great present! Was there marmite in the basket? That'd be my reminder of home if I was overseas...

Hannah your brother bears a striking resemblance to Coldplay's Chris Martin but a lot smilier. I'd be smiling though if someone sent me a fab basket like that. I live in Germany and the best I can hope for is teabags and Oxo's from my mum. Maybe I'll forward your blog to her and see if she gets the hint!!

How funny, I was just looking at some of those items today at my local supermarket (It's Stop N Shop - not in NYC proper, but if your brother gets really desperate he could venture to one of the boros)! What a festive looking basket for sure. :)

That looks like an excellent present for a man far from where he grew up! I'm sure he was very pleased with such a lovely selection of food memories. :)
